You submit a sketch for your group costume, including quantity needed and estimated sizes that will be required, along with your delivery date.
We will re-sketch according to correct proportions, realistic construction methods and budget expectations.
We will quote fabric, trim and notions costs, per garment.
We will quote costs for pattern development, prototype creation, and cutting.
You place your order, based on the quoted costs, with a 50% deposit.

• We order your fabric, trim and notions, create your pattern, cut your prototype and sew it together.
• We ship your prototype to you for you to critique. You try it on a Medium adult or child sized dancer, and request any changes. You return it to us.
• We make your requested changes to your pattern. We grade your pattern to all the sizes that you need (you pick sizes off our charts, and based on the fit of the prototype.)
• We cut all your requested sizes, label and bundle up for you.
• You pay the balance of your invoice.
• We ship your costumes for your sewers to assemble, along with your prototype to use as a guide.

What is the value of this service?
Professional design, precise Computer-Aided-Design with patternmaking, cutting and sizing. If you have sewing talent, depending on the costume style – your costs could be 25%-50% less than if Satin Stitches created your costumes from start-to-finish. You will have access to all of our sources for fabrics, trims and notions, or you may provide your own. We will add only a nominal markup to the supplies we use to cover our costs, so you will be paying much less than retail.

Example: A typical $300 Satin Stitches group costume may include $50 worth of development labor, $25 worth of fabric & notions, $25 worth of trim, $50 worth of sizing & cutting labor, and $150 worth of sewing & trimming labor. Your cost might be $150-200 per costume, rather than $300 per costume.

But the REAL value is the peace of mind that you have professionals working with the design, patternmaking and cutting of your costumes, and you don’t have to worry about leaving these tasks to volunteers, who just may not have the talents to pull it all off. Or if they do, only after reworking, with lots of blood, sweat and tears.

* Timetable is valid only if no delays by the client with the return of the prototype & sizes and if the final payment received 1 week prior to the ship date.

* Also, if a second prototype is requested – allow an additional 3 weeks for creating a new pattern and prototype, and 1 week for its return.
